Inspiring the next generation of musician since 2014
Socratic Teaching Approach at Alan Tang Music
At Alan Tang Music, we proudly adopt the Socratic method of teaching, designed to inspire critical thinking, self-reflection, and a deeper understanding of music. This approach is suitable for students of all ages—from curious 3-year-olds to lifelong learners in their senior years.
Our method emphasises active questioning and self-directed learning, encouraging students to take ownership of their musical journey. This personalised framework aligns with both the Oxford Piano Method and the AMEB syllabus, offering a structured yet flexible progression pathway.
Each lesson is tailored to the individual’s goals, learning style, and schedule, ensuring that musical development is both meaningful and sustainable. Through this adaptive and student-focused approach, we aim to nurture creativity, build confidence, and instil a lifelong love for music in every learner.
Since 2014, my experienced team and I have proudly developed and delivered comprehensive music education programs at Lindfield East Public School and Reddam Early Learning School.
Guided by our motto, "Inspiring the Next Generation of Musicians," we are passionate about fostering musical growth in young learners. Our team is committed to excellence in both teaching and performance, and we believe in nurturing each student’s unique potential through engaging, age-appropriate, and skill-building programs. We strive to create a lasting impact by sharing our expertise, creativity, and deep love for music with future generations.
