Our team is carefully selected by our General Manager, Adam, and me, ensuring that each member upholds the highest standards of professionalism and character. With a highly motivated team and a strong sense of camaraderie, we are committed to delivering a Socratic approach to learning, seamlessly aligned with the AMEB syllabus. Our goal is to create an engaging and enriching musical education experience for students of all ages
Alan Tang
(Director)

Alan Tang is a dedicated teacher with 11 years of experience. Having performed at prestigious venues from the International Chopin Piano Competition and Sydney Opera House, his piano career was cut short by an accident that required tendon reattachment in his left thumb.
Alan has dedicted his passion for music thrives in teaching. He brings creativity, enthusiasm, and refined technique to every lesson in both piano and guitar. Known for creating a fun, relaxed, and dynamic learning environment, he tailors his sessions to suit students of all ages, making music education an engaging and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Adam Riddell
(General Manager and Guitar Teacher)
An amazing guitar teacher combines deep musical knowledge with patience and enthusiasm. He tailors lessons to each student's needs, offering clear guidance and constructive feedback. His passion for music is contagious, inspiring students to practice and improve. With excellent communication skills, he makes learning fun and engaging.
Tiffany Wong
(Vocal singing teacher)
Tiffany is a passionate and dedicated performer in Music Theatre, currently completing her Bachelor of Music (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Her musical achievements include the AMEB Associate of Music in Classical Voice (2023), and Grade 5 Music Theory with Distinction (2021).
Tiffany has earned recognition in various competitions, securing Second Place in the Boroondara Eisteddfod Classical Vocal Solo (2023) and Honourable Mentions in the Musical Theatre Solo category (2023). She also received the Best Conductor award for Massed Singing at the MLC Performing Arts Festival (2021) and was named Champion for Grade 8 Singing Solo at The St Cecilia International Music Competition (2019).
Her international performance experience includes notable roles such as Serena in Legally Blonde (2023), Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance (2019), and Marian in The Music Man Jr. (2019). She also participated in the SIX the Musical worldwide cast Lockdown Performance (2021) and performed in Carmen with Opera Hong Kong and le French May (2018). Tiffany is devoted to teaching and performing, with the goal of inspiring and touching the hearts of her audience.
Lara Autore
(Violin and Piano Teacher)
Lara is a great teacher also a student of Medicine at UTS, combines exceptional technical expertise with a passion for music. She offer personalised instruction, ensuring each student’s progress through patience and encouragement. With a strong background in performance and teaching, she inspires students to achieve their best while making learning enjoyable and rewarding.
Chris Poon
(Cello and Piano Teacher)
Chris is a great cello teacher who brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to every lesson. His patient and encouraging approach helps students build strong technical skills and musicality. With years of teaching and performance experience, Chris inspires students to reach their full potential while making learning enjoyable and engaging.
Anna Hong
(Piano Teacher)
Anna is a seasoned educator with a background in tutoring both high school and primary school students prior to joining Alan Tang Music. Known for her exceptional kindness and patience, she has endeared herself to a multitude of students. Her profound understanding of music serves as a wellspring of inspiration for her students, motivating them to persist in their practice
Frida Kotlyar
(Senior Piano Teacher)
Frida is a highly experienced piano educator with over 30 years of teaching expertise. As a former head of a Redlands Cremorne music department, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the musical journeys of countless students. Her dedication to music education has led many of her former students to pursue successful careers, with some becoming well-recognized names in the industry. Passionate about inspiring the next generation, Frida continues to nurture and develop musicians with her wealth of knowledge and experience.
Patricia Poulos
(Senior Vocal Singing Teacher)
Patricia Poulos is a highly accomplished singer, author, editor, producer, publisher, and screenwriter, bringing a lifetime of experience and artistic excellence to Alan Tang Music. A proud alumna of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Patricia has performed internationally, captivating audiences with her powerful voice and stage presence.
Her achievements extend beyond music, including winning 4th place at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards (2015) and receiving the prestigious World Humanitarian Award (2018). As a passionate and dedicated singing teacher, Patricia is committed to inspiring and guiding students of all levels. With her extensive performance background and deep expertise in vocal technique, she helps students unlock their full potential, build confidence, and develop a strong, expressive voice.
Tom Lim
(Trumpet Teacher, Beginner Trombone, French Horn Teacher)
Tom Lim is a distinguished semi-professional trumpet player, highly regarded within Sydney’s orchestral brass community. Serving as the Associate Principal Trumpet of the Sydney Youth Orchestra, he is currently pursuing his studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Passionate about nurturing the next generation of brass musicians, Tom combines patience with a profound understanding of brass pedagogy. His expertise spans all stages of musical development, enabling him to guide students from beginner levels to professional careers and beyond.
William Solomon
(Drum and Piano Teacher)
William Solomon is a highly accomplished percussionist and an outstanding educator. With a deep passion for teaching, he brings his wealth of experience to inspire and guide students at all levels. As the lead percussionist in the Wind Orchestra (NYSW), he won the Australian National Band Championship in 2024. Additionally, he achieved 1st place in the NSW State Championships for Mallet Percussion and snare drum competition with an exceptional score of 97/100. His expertise, dedication, and ability to break down complex techniques make him an excellent mentor for aspiring percussionists.
Ted Kusano
(Saxophone and Flute Teacher)
Ted is a great saxophone teacher with 50 years of experience. His deep knowledge and passion for music are evident in every lesson. Ted’s patient, personalized approach helps students master techniques and develop their unique sound. His extensive experience makes him an inspiring and effective mentor for all levels.
Angelica Tan
(Piano Teacher)
Angelica is a dedicated individual who values hard work and strategic learning. In 2019, she achieved distinctions in both AMEB Musicianship and Grade 8 exams. Her resolute approach to life serves as an inspiration to her students, striking a harmonious balance between perseverance and creativity.
